C&IH Receives OHSAS 18001 Certification for OHS Management System

As part of a corporate-wide commitment to promote a safe and healthy work environment, C&IH’s Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) recently became certified for compliance with OHSAS 18001:2007 standards. C&IH’s OHSMS promotes a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, contractors, and visitors by continually identifying and controlling health and safety risks, reducing the potential for accidents, and improving overall corporate productivity.

Implementation of an OHSMS is an integral component in any effort to improve workplace health and safety. Avoiding regulatory fines can represent a significant but only partial and short-term benefit when a company decides to address the deficiencies in their health and safety program. Additional long-term benefits include reducing the number of accidents and the severity of exposures, decreasing production downtime, increasing process efficiency and productivity, increasing employee morale and retention, and strengthening public image. A properly designed and implemented OHSMS will incorporate all the necessary health and safety programs to protect employees and control long-term health and safety risks.

C&IH develops occupational health and safety management systems that enable organizations to minimize health and safety risks by implementing programs that extend to all job sites and all employees. Our experienced staff provides comprehensive, turn-key implementations and also offers guidance to achieve certification in ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001 standards, and compliance with ANSI Z-10 standards.
