Dr. Ann Wylie, C&IH senior scientific advisor and professor emerita at the University of Maryland’s Department of Geology, has been named a 2024 Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). The Fellow designation is awarded to scientists, engineers, and innovators for their lifetime contributions within the scientific community. Over her five-decade career at the University of Maryland (UMD), Dr. Wylie has become widely recognized for her distinguished research on the relationship between mineral properties and their impact on human health, as well as for her leadership at UMD. Dr. Wylie has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles, held numerous leadership roles including senior vice president and provost, and is a recipient of UMD’s President’s Medal, the University’s highest honor.
