Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety (OEHS) Management Systems
C&IH provides comprehensive, turn-key OEHS management system consulting in accordance with OHSAS 18001,
ISO 14001, and ANSI Z10 standards
Executives and managers face a significant challenge in monitoring daily activities at all sites and for all employees. At C&IH, we believe that formalized management systems are effective tools to improve management control, reduce the incidence rate of injuries and illnesses, and facilitate the implementation of corporate expectations concerning the management of occupational and environmental health and safety hazards and their associated risks.
OEHS Management System
A properly designed and implemented OEHS management system provides effective and efficient control of occupational and environmental health and safety issues. The framework for developing a management system includes five fundamental components:
- Policy: Developing corporate policy that outlines the OEHS principles and goals that a company is committed to following
- Planning: Identifying hazards and understanding associated risks, and establishing processes to satisfy policy objectives
- Implementation: Training personnel and bringing the management system into full operation
- Checking and corrective action: Monitoring and measuring processes against policy objectives and making necessary changes for continual improvement
- Management review: Auditing the management system for effectiveness and relevance against new health and safety challenges and evolving policy objectives
An OEHS management system is an integral component of corporate culture and promotes employee involvement at every level of operation. It enables systematic control of health and safety issues throughout an organization, providing outreach to all facilities and personnel.
OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, and ANSI Z10 Standards
International standards including OHSAS 18001 (occupational health and safety management) and ISO 14001 (environmental management) have been developed by leading foreign national and international standards bodies to provide the specifications and framework for designing and implementing management systems that control OEHS risk. The United States has its own consensus standard known as ANSI Z10 that outlines requirements for an OEHS management system.
C&IH can help clients develop customized OEHS management systems in accordance with the standards defined in OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, and
ANSI Z10. Our team of professionals design management system solutions that are based on the unique needs of each client and offer guidance for certification to OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001, and ANSI Z10.
